Canine Physiotherapy                                     

Dogs are our most faithful companions and can be involved in many varied jobs and sports.  Veterinary Physiotherapy is an important component in helping your dog through all the stages and activities of its life.

Conditions treated

Veterinary physiotherapy is important in maintaining your dogs well being as well as treating a number of conditions including:

  • Soft tissue injuries
  • Tendon and ligament injuries
  • Wounds
  • Osteoarthritis and other age related skeletal and muscle problems
  • Back problems
  • Dysplasia of hip or elbow
  • Neurological problems
  • Orthopaedic conditions
  • Pre operative pain
  • Post operative rehabilitation.
  • Obesity

 

Treatments

A treatment regime will be specifically tailored to your pet identified through the initial assessment.  The treatment regime will include a combination of the following techniques:

  • Massage
  • Myofascial release
  • Stretches
  • TENS, NEMS
  • Phototherapy – red and blue light
  • Pulsed Magnetic Field Therapy
  • Therapuetic long wave ultrasound
  • Thermotherapy
  • Trigger therapy
  • Active and passive range of movement

A tailored exercise programme may also be specified to enhance mobility

 

Athletic/ working dogs

If your dog is involved in particularly athletic activities such as flyball, agility or is a working dog, Veterinary Physiotherapy can play an important role in enhancing your dogs fitness and ability as well as preventing injury. 

I would be delighted to work with you to develop a tailored exercise regime for your individual dogs needs.

         

 

Fees

Consultation and treatment      £45

I undertake home visits only and a travel fee may be charged for locations outwith my immediate area of Inverness-shire, Moray, and Badenoch and Strathspey. This can be split beween multiple clients if these can be organised for the same day. Please get in touch for a quote

 

Cancellation policy- If you cancel your appointment within 24 hours of the appointment the full fee will be charged.

 

Veterinary Consent

It is a legal requirement to gain veterinary surgeons consent before anyone treats an animal I will therefore, contact your vet for consent and any relevant veterinary history prior to your appointment.
